Justin Stuart fined for cocaine possession

Posted: Wednesday, April 24, 2019. 6:39 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: With clarity not present when he was first arraigned in court, 31-year-old Justin Stuart today conceded his guilt on a charge of possession of controlled substances.

As explained in court, Stuart was walking with only socks on his feet on Thursday morning, April 18, heading home on Newtown Barracks in front of Moe’s Pizzeria.

A police mobile was in the area and had to stop suddenly after Stuart crossed in front of it, almost causing an accident.

This prompted police to search Stuart and they found a transparent plastic bag in his hands containing suspected cocaine, which he said he had just picked up from off the street.

In court, Stuart told Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson that he regrets his decision, but it will not cost him much – a $100 fine due by the end of July, in default 2 months in jail.

Stuart was previously fined for drinking in public and was made to pay that $50 fine before he was released.
