Corozal police find high powered rifle

By BBN Staff: Corozal police are in possession of a high powered weapon.

It is a 7.62 caliber rifle.

It was found during a search of a bushy lot in the Dominguez Layout area.

According to police, a 7.62 live round was found in its chamber.

No one was in the area at the time of the discovery so the weapon has been labeled as found property.

However, police will send it to the forensic lab to determine if it was used in the execution of any shootings.
