Belizean man murdered in Mexico

By BBN Staff: A Belizean man is among four people who were killed in Mexico this weekend.

According to Mexican authorities, Punta Gorda native Hakeem Arzu was among a group of three men and one woman killed in Playa del Carmen.

Mexican media outlets are reporting that on Saturday morning, a man and a woman were found executed on a dirt road leading to the vicinity of “Cristo Rey” in Playa del Carmen. Presumptions are that the deceased were tortured and executed elsewhere then dumped in the area they were found. The other two bodies were found on the road to Xcalacoco near the road from Playa del Carmen to Cancun.

Authorities are investigating.
