By BBN Staff: Authorities are investigating an armed burglary that occurred yesterday around 7:40 am in Sarteneja, Corozal.

Leomir Santoya,29, told police that his mother woke him up around 2am and told him that someone was knocking at their door.

The person that was knocking the door identified himself as a police officer.

But when Santoya opened the door, he saw the man dressed in a combat uniform and armed with an M-16 rifle.

The man told Leomir that he had a warrant for one Victor Santoya.

The culprit then tied and beat Leomir.

There were also three other men outside the yard who were armed with firearms and proceeded to steal a Kia Sorento SUV with license plate #Czl C22700, a watch, and a Harrington and Richards 16 gauge shotgun bearing serial number HAU666230.

All items have a total value of $12,595.

Police are investigating.
