By BBN Staff: Belizean football star Ian Gaynair has issued an apology for his conduct at a basketball game last night.
Gaynair posted on his Facebook page earlier today, owning up to his misconduct and apologizing to his fans and supporters for the incident.
“I was wrong and I acted out of character and let my emotions got the best of me. With so much time thinking about it now I know I could have done better being that I am a professional athlete, end of the day I’m only human and I made a mistake…” Gaynair said.
He noted that he was emotional after his younger brother was injured during the game while the referees were making questionable calls in his opinion.
With the incident aside, Gaynair, a member of Belize’s national football team, has been known for his emphasis on promoting sports as a positive outlet for youths.
