By BBN Staff: This morning on the Love FM Morning Show, PM Barrow’s discussion was predominantly on the upcoming referendum which will be held this Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
But the Prime Minister also elaborated on his tenure as the leader of Belize for 3 consecutive terms.
Barrow said that 3 (terms) is the ideal number since there is no fixed date for elections in Belize so he would be able to leave before the end of the third term.
“ I think 3 is in fact just the right number especially given that under our system there is no fixed date elections, so you can leave a little early before the end of the third term”, Barrow stated.
Barrow also said that he believes that serving 2 terms is just ‘shy’ of the ideal.
Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber and Minister of National Security, John Saldivar both have their eyes set on becoming the future leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) in the upcoming general elections.
