By BBN Staff: The 2019 national Intersectoral Early Childhood Development Conference commenced today and will conclude tomorrow at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel.
The Ministry of Health, Human Development and Social Transformation along with the Ministry of Education have collaborated to see the implementation of the ‘Comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Plan for the Early Childhood Development Policy.’
A key component of the policy is the implementation of an ‘Individual Child Tracking System’ (ICTS) as an intersectoral effort.
The action plan for the ICTS will include establishing an information system that will be populated from the different information systems.
It also includes the development of an operation manual.
The Ministry of Education explains that the monitoring and evaluation plan is an extremely important element of the intersectoral commitment to create better quality of life for children.
It will track the growth and development of children and in response address their needs so as to make a positive impact on their future lives.
