Police: Shooting death of Shemar Nunez justified

By BBN Staff: Belize City police have ruled that justifiable force was used in the shooting death of Shemar Nunez, 23.

It is alleged that Nunez and a minor robbed a store on Albert Street on Sunday morning.

While fleeing, however, a passerby ordered Nunez to stop.

Instead, Nunez allegedly pointed a pistol at the passerby who fired a single shot killing him on the spot.

The minor was apprehended on South Street with about $660 in his possession. He will be taken to court today.
