By BBN Staff: The Albert Action Committee (AAC) in collaboration with Area Representative, Tracy Panton is seeking to build a community-based approach to the development of the Albert Constituency.
The AAC has committed its efforts to answering one of the gaps in the area that is providing a safe, secure and technologically driven environment for the youth population through the development of an Albert CARE Centre.
The Government and People of the Republic of China (Taiwan) via the Office of the Ambassador, Remus Chen, has pledged to provide a $30,000.00 grant for the Albert CARE Centre to assist accomplishing this goal.
The Albert Care Centre will be located on the Second Floor of No. 56 Regent Street, Belize City.
The main goals of the center will be to:
1) Provide a safe environment for Primary and Secondary School Students, residents of the area, to do their assignments and projects;
2) Provide access to computers, printing facilities, audio-visual facilities and internet for students to carry out their school work, as well as, engage in extra-curricular training programs to build skills;
3) Provide for a quiet space where counseling and other support would be available to students that seek such services.
A handing over ceremony will be held at 10 am tomorrow.
