By BBN Staff: As a token of appreciation for the hard works teachers around the country put out each day, the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) has set up a series of activities for them, during the celebration of Education Week.

The activities began on Sunday, May 12, where the Belize City branch of the BNTU gave mother’s day tokens to all its women members at church services across the city. The BNTU had also distributed mothers day tokens countrywide on Friday, May 10.

On Tuesday, schools countrywide paid respect to the sustaining power of spiritual health, with in-school morning devotions for teachers. Today, the BNTU looked after the physical health of teachers, with a health walk/run starting off at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex, headed down princess Margaret Drive to the roundabout at Golden Bay then back to the sporting complex.

On Thursday, the union is looking after the mental health of its teachers with some socialization and Karaoke, over at the Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina. On Friday, the celebration fo International teacher’s Day, all roads lead to Hopkins Village, where the Union has planned a fun day for its members countrywide.
