Posted: Friday, May 17, 2019. 1:17 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Today, the British High Commission in Belize and the British Army Training Support Unit Belize (BATSUB) hosted members of Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) in Belmopan.

BATSUB Commander, Lt. Col. Si Walton presented clothing and equipment to FCD Founder, Raphael Manzanero to assist the FCD Rangers who work extensively in the Chiquibul Forest Reserve protecting Belize’s heritage.

The equipment, valued at approximately BZ$25,000 was funded through a United Kingdom Stewardship grant, and compliments the ongoing projects that have been funded by the British High Commission.

Some of these projects include Protecting the Bio-cultural Landscape and Mitigating Illegal Wildlife Tracking in the Chiquibul.
