By BBN Staff: A well-known attorney was detained by police yesterday, having been found with unlicensed ammunition; however, Commissioner of Police (COMPOL)
Chester Williams has concluded that the attorney was set up and therefore will not be charged.
Williams said that, during the search, police found five 9mm rounds in three different locations in the vehicle. However, he stressed that the attorney’s vehicle has a mechanical issue where the doors cannot be locked, and he parked the vehicle the night before in an area where anyone could have accessed the vehicle and planted those bullets.
“This is an attorney, I don’t think you would be a fool to put those ammunition where they were found. So it was clear, that someone may have stood him up and so because of that, we decided, we’re going to investigate this further and we’re not going to levy charges against him at this time,” Williams said.
Williams added that the incident should show that police are not afraid to come down on anyone once they have what the believe to be credible information about possible wrongdoing.
