By BBN Staff: During yesterday’s sitting of the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Dean Barrow made a newsworthy announcement.
He indicated that in light of increased Guatemalan aggression at the Sarstoon river, he hopes to see tensions decreased.
He indicated that by agreeing to go to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Belize is now able to apply to the ICJ for provisional measures to deal with the Sarstoon.
According to the Prime Minister, instead of waiting to work out an agreement with Guatemala, Belize’s legal team will apply to the ICJ for provisional measures on the Sarstoon.
