Belize participates in 72nd World Health Assembly

By BBN Staff: Belize is participating at the 72nd World Health Assembly in Geneva.

The World Health Assembly is being held under the theme, “Universal Health Coverage: Leave No One Behind!”

Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero, is representing Belize.

Meetings include discussions with CARICOM Health Minister’s Caucus, the Director General of the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Director General of World Health Organization (WHO).

The Ministry of Health informs that the case of Belize’s experience with Chronic Kidney Disease and the Community Health Worker was presented in forums sponsored by the ICDF and the World Medical/Taiwan Medical Association on May 22, 2019.

At 3:15 a.m. Belize time, Manzanero addressed the plenary of the World Health Assembly.

 The World Health Assembly is a decision-making body of the WHO.
