One man dead, two served with notice of intended prosecution in fatal road traffic accident

By BBN Staff: One man is dead and two have been issued notices of intended prosecution (NIP) after a road traffic accident.

It occurred shortly after 8 o’clock on the night of May 20th.

Lascelle Coote and Henry Augustine were driving on the Southern Highway when they parked on the pavement near the George Town junction. While exiting their vehicle, a truck coming in the opposite direction and driven by Miguel Ariaci, struck Augustine.

Augustine suffered head and body injuries and died while undergoing treatment at the Independence Polyclinic.

Ariaci and Coote have since been served notices of intended prosecution while investigations remain open.
