St. Luke takes to the streets in protest of violence

By BBN Staff: This morning, students and teachers from St. Luke Methodist Primary School held a peaceful demonstration in Belize city following the tragic shooting of 11-year-old Kyron Green.

The students marched from their school compound, backed up by their marching band, holding signs promoting peace. They marched down Central American Boulevard, taking the protest in front of the grocery store where Green was shot.

Green’s mother, Marsha Belisle, explained that the bullet entered his left cheek and traveled through his body, eventually damaging his spinal cord. Green has been left paralyzed as a result of his injuries. Green had gone to the grocery store around 7:00 p.m. last

 

Friday night on an errand for his mother when a shooter entered the crowded grocery store and opened fire.

The apparent target of the shooting was Raymond Fuller, 21, who was shot several times during the incident. Police have detained several persons in connection with the incident, but there has been no word of a formal arrest.
