The program is being launched through the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Commerce, BELTRAIDE, the Economic Development Council, the Customs and Excise Department and other stakeholder partners.

The program is designed to reduce the cost of doing business and creating greater operational efficiency, thereby, strengthening the competitiveness of the MSME Sector.

The benefits will include the enhanced customs and trade facilitating measures on select packaging and labeling materials.

The shortlist of packaging and labeling materials include items such as, but not limited to, adhesives, plates, sheets, film, foil, tape, strip, boxes, cases, crates, spools, bobbins, stoppers, pallets, bags, jars, tanks, casks, drums, cans, staples, ribbons, bottles, lids, caps, labels, and packing or wrapping machine.

The launch will feature an overview of the program, along with an open dialogue with MSMEs and other stakeholders.

Following the launch, the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Commerce along with its partners will facilitate a series of countrywide road shows to sensitize MSMEs on the application process and benefits and at the same time expand the formal base.

The program will be launched tomorrow at 10 am at the Best Western Belize Biltmore.
