BAHA meets with stakeholders to safeguard agricultural health in Belize

By BBN Staff: The Belize Agriculture and Health Authority (BAHA), the Ministry of Agriculture and Organismo Internacional Regional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (OIRSA) met today to discuss and finalize initiatives that will be implemented in 2019 to safeguard agricultural health and food safety for Belize and the region.

The discussion was focused on regional emerging threats such as African Swine Fever, Trogoderma granarium and Fusarium oxysporum Tropical Race 4.

The meeting also addressed the need for continued collaboration, the role and responsibilities of each agency and the need to create awareness of these existing threats.

Follow up activities will occur in the coming months.
