By BBN Staff: Deputy Prime Minister, Patrick Faber, was in El Salvador yesterday for the inauguration of the country’s new president, H.E. Mr. Nayib Bukele.

Margaret Juan, Chargé ďAffaires at the Embassy of Belize in El Salvador, accompanied Faber on the trip. He took the time to speak to the international press, congratulating El Salvador on its elections and welcoming continued bilateral relations between the country and Belize.

President Bukele was elected with an overwhelming majority in the first round of elections on February 3, 2019, and is the first president not to come from the two major political parties.
