By BBN Staff: In the aftermath of the brutal killing of Alaris Andrewin, an educator and the acting principal of Excelsior highschool, the Belize National Teacher’s Union has issued a statement mourning her loss and condemning her murder.

The BNTU noted that Andrewin was a vibrant participant and supporter of the union’s activities, and stated emphatically its collective outrage that she was taken from her loved ones in such a horrific manner. The union also called on authorities all the way up to the ministry level to ensure that no effort is spared in investigating the crime.

“We call on and call out those of you who have been appointed and placed in positions of authority to ensure that crime is brought to a minimum to DO YOUR JOBS! The Belizean populace is tired of burying our loved ones,” the BNTU said.

The union also expressed its sincere condolences to Andrewin’s family in their time of bereavement.
