Father, 28, charge for death of his 2-month-old child

By BBN Staff: Troy Banner, 28, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of his two-month-old child, Thevanne Banner.

He is expected to be arraigned sometime this morning.

A post mortem examination revealed that the child died of fractures to the head and back consistent with battered child syndrome.

Banner has denied that he deliberately inflicted those injuries.

Instead, he said those injuries were caused when he tried to resuscitate the child.
