Breaking: Shootout between Police and Armed Robbers in Belize City

By BBN Staff: There was a shooting early this morning in Belize City.

It occurred in the vicinity of Fabers Road.

Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, has indicated that the shootout this morning was between police and armed robbers.

The armed robbers had reportedly just burglarized Belize Waste Control on the George Price Highway and were about to escape.

However, police arrived on the scene quickly and after several gunshots were fired, cops were able to intercept the vehicle and one suspect.  The other suspects are currently being sought.
