San Pedro Lobster fest coming soon!

By BBN Staff: The annual San Pedro Lobster festival is scheduled to commence on Thursday, June 13 and will go through to June 22.

Every year, the event brings together thousands of Belizeans to enjoy exquisite lobster dishes as well as Lionfish tournament, Lobster fest’s Lobster menu and the weighing of the biggest lobster.

 Belizeans and visitors have booked their hotels on La Isla Bonita to enjoy the Lobster-full weekend.

To kick off the Lobster festival, a Lionfish tournament will be hosted by Hol Chan Marine Reserve. The Lionfish tournament will be held on June 13 and participants can win up to $2,500 in cash prizes. The event will feature live trivia, ceviche competition and a fillet competition.

The official Lobster Fest opening ceremonies will take place at Caribbean Villas at midday on June 15.

Activities continue throughout the day with a competition for biggest lobster.

On Saturday June 15, the party will continue at Amber Beach bar and grill.

Throughout the week, June 13 to June 22, the fest moves on to several grill spots in San Pedro town.

There will be lots to eat and drink.

On Saturday, June 22, the event culminates with a block party at San Pedro’s Central Park.
