Taiwanese embassy donates to Micah Goodin Scholarship Fund

By BBN Staff: Today the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) made a donation to the Micah Goodin Scholarship Fund.

The fund, established by Councilor Goodin is seeking to raise $10,000 to distribute as partial scholarships to tertiary level students.

In a Facebook post, Goodin thanked the embassy for the donation of $1,000.

He said he is now one step closer to his target.

He revealed that Belize City Mayor, Bernard Wagner, committed to match the $10,000 if Goodin was able to meet his target.

Goodin wrote that if he is able to raise the $20,000 instead, he will be able to assist about 40 or so students.

Goodin told our newsroom that the next fundraiser for the scholarship fund will be held at the end of this month.
