By BBN Staff: The Lucky Strike community center was modified to serve as a hurricane shelter for the village.
Inauguration ceremonies were held yesterday for the center.
Speakers included Minister of National Emergency Management and Area Representative, Edmond Castro, Lucky Strike Village Chairman Andrew Chacon, and representatives from NEMO and the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government.
The roof of the center was replaced and the building retrofitted with new bathrooms, windows, and doors.
Additionally, the National Sports Council assisted in refurbishing the basketball court adjacent to the community center.
Besides being fit as a disaster shelter, the repaired and upgraded building will better serve the general community needs of the village.
