Guatemalan busted with weapons at western border

By BBN Staff: A Guatemalan national was busted with weapons at Belize’s western border.

He is Romero Cardona Zapata.

Police say they saw him near the parking lot at the border office and proceeded to search him.

That search led to the discovery of a 9mm pistol.

A further search of a Toyota Hilux he was driving led to the discovery of a 12 gauge shot gun and an assortment of ammunition.

As a result, he was charged with two counts of kept unlicensed firearm and 2 counts of kept unlicensed ammunition.
