Man, 31, charged with trafficking crack cocaine and crystal meth

By Aaron Humes: Accused drug trafficker Michael Hulse, 31, pleaded not guilty to two counts of drug trafficking for alleged crack cocaine and methamphetamine found during a police raid at his home last week.

Hulse was to have been arraigned on Thursday but attorney Audrey Matura objected to the wording of one of the original charges, leading to it having to be rewritten.

Hulse and Matura claim he was badly beaten by police who wanted his password to his cellphone, which he refused to give them. He had been in hospital since the raid and went back for further treatment after appearing in court.

 Police said they had found 52 tablets containing methamphetamine and 5.6 grams of crack cocaine.

He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 plus one surety of the same amount which he was able to meet and is due back in court on August 13, 2019.
