Three men to face trial for the murder of Paul Jex

By Aaron Humes: A pair of brothers and their friend from San Pedro Town will have to stand trial for a murder on La Isla Bonita in the October session of the Supreme Court.

20-year-old Delson Paguada and his 19-year-old sibling, Tionne Paguada, both from the San Mateo area of San Pedro, and 37-year-old Timothy Carcamo were committed after a preliminary inquiry Friday by Chief Magistrate, Sharon Frazer.

Paul Jex, whose proper name is Jimmell Paul Jex Jr. and who is originally from Belize City, was walking on Crocodile Street near the airstrip with his cousin Dion Neal when they were shot in January of 2018. Police say they were ambushed by two gunmen.  Both Neal and Jex ran, but the gunmen open fire and both were hit, with Jex Jr. fatally wounded at the scene.

The Paguada brothers intend to call as many as eight witnesses to establish alibi, that is, that they were elsewhere at the time of the murder and therefore could not have committed it.
