By BBN Staff: Over 100 representatives from the tourism sector are expected to attend the 34th bi-annual meeting hosted by the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA).
The event, scheduled for July 4 at the George Price Center for Peace in Belmopan is set to bring tourism stakeholders from all over the country for a report on the association’s activities over the past six months.
John Burgos, executive director of the BTIA, said that the meeting will feature reports on several of the association’s successful projects including the Sustainable Tourism Project launched in May. The long-term objective of the Sustainable Tourism Project is to position Belize as sustainable tourism destination.
The event will also feature a report on the cooperation agreement with Mexico and the Mexican Embassy to provide a series of training programs to improve the hospitality and service industry in Belize beginning in early August 2019.
Anthony Hunt, airline tourism consultant, will be the guest speaker at the event, and will give a presentation entitled “The importance of selecting your target market.”
