San Pedro resident murdered in Corozal

By BBN Staff: Corozal police are investigating the death of a San Pedro resident that occurred last night in the San Andres area of Corozal Town.

Around 7:50 pm, police responded to a report of a shooting incident in the San Andres area. When officers arrived, they saw San Pedro resident, David Ophir Martinez, 23, lying motionless on the ground bleeding from the mouth. 

Martinez had a gunshot wound to his right lower back.

Investigations revealed that Martinez was in a yard along with others when they were approached by two armed men.

 The men fired several shots in their direction causing the gun injuries.

Martinez was transported to the Corozal Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Police have detained two persons pending investigations.
