Police halt apparent attempt to refuel suspected drug plane in south

By Aaron Humes: Independence police have recovered some 206 gallons of suspected aviation fuel after reports that a drug plane was scared off from landing to refuel on Saturday night. 

Credible information to BBN is that around 10:00 p.m., a plane was seen flying low over the Independence area. Police quickly responded but it flew off without touching down. 

Then, around five this morning in a forested area near the Nova shrimp farm, police discovered the containers – a fifty five gallon drum and other smaller containers. These are now lodged with police as found property. 

This is said to be the second such landing attempt in the last week.
