French tourist beaten and robbed in Sarteneja, Corozal

By BBN Staff: Authorities are investigating the assault of a French tourist that occurred on Monday in Sarteneja, Corozal.

French student, Gabriel Jacquet, 25, was visiting Sarteneja.

Jacquet tied his hammock in the Cancuncito area around noon time and around 5:30 p.m., residents noticed that Jacquet was bleeding from his head.

Jacquet was reportedly robbed of his personal belongings and beaten.

He is presently at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a stable condition.

Police are investigating.
