148 Police officers honored in award ceremony

By BBN Staff: Commissioner of Police (COMPOL), Chester Williams and the Belize Police Department today recognized the work of 148 police officers.

The Departments Medals & Awards Ceremony 2019 was held this morning at the National Police Training Academy in Belmopan as part of the Police Week 2019 Activities.

Long Service Medals were awarded to 63 police officers:

37 officers were recognized for 25 years service- First Clasp Medals

16 Police Officers were recognized for 30 years “Second Clasp Medals”

15 Police Officers were recognized for “Meritorious Service Medals-MSM”

 7 Police Officers were recognized for “Distinguished Service Medals-DSM”

 10 Junior Officers were promoted on the Parade Square for the first time in history by the Governor General & COMPOL, to their new N.C.O Ranks.
