By BBN Staff: A bus driver employed with Tillett’s Bus Line is facing criminal charges after knocking down a 69-year-old man in Orange Walk this weekend.

Police served the driver, whose name is being withheld until he is formally charged, with a notice of intended prosecution for the incident which happened just before 6 p.m. on Friday, June 28  on queen Victoria Ave. Orange Walk Town.

Primitivo Itza was reportedly trying to cross the road near a pedestrian ramp and went in front of the bus while it was parked. The bus moved off at the same time and ran over Itza causing severe damage to both his legs. Due to the severity of the damage, doctors had to amputate both of his legs.
