Armed masked men hold up Belizean businessman and steal vehicle

Posted: Friday, July 5, 2019. 3:12 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: A Belizean businessman was robbed of his vehicle last night on Bullet Tree Road, Cayo District.

According to family members, Trinidad Juan Jr. was arriving at his home on Bullet Tree Road around 1 a.m. this morning when two (2) masked men approached him and robbed him of his vehicle keys. One of the men was reportedly armed with a firearm and therefore Juan did not offer any resistance. The masked men also relieved Trinidad Juan of the contents of his pockets, including the keys for his home.

The men then escaped with Juan’s black Nissan Titan pick up truck, and headed in the direction of Bullet Tree village. The police were called via telephone right after the incident and police arrived on the scene within a few minutes of the call.

The vehicle is still missing and is suspected to have been taken across the border to Guatemala.

Authorities are investigating.
