The event, which was held at the George Price Center for Peace in Belmopan briefed members on completed projects such as the recent Belize Tourism Expo (BETEX), the status of ongoing projects, and new projects on the horizon.
The event also featured a report on the cooperation agreement with Mexico and Mexican Embassy to provide a series of training programs to improve the hospitality and service industry in Belize beginning next month.
John Burgos, executive director of the BTIA, explained that the meeting focused heavily on Sustainable Tourism Practices. Burgos said the sustainable tourism project, launched in May, will benefit the environment as well as the economy.
