By BBN Staff: Police have detained one man for a stabbing incident yesterday that reportedly occurred over a bicycle.
Police say that Plues Steet resident Matthew Smith, 27, was in the Conch Shell Bay area of East Collet Canal in Belize City around 6:45 p.m. yesterdaywhen he got into an altercation with a man about his bicycle that was missing. The altercation turned physical and the pan allegedly stabbed Smith under the left armpit.
Smith was treated for his injuries at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, while the man has yet to be officially charged.
