By BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department’s January to June 2019 crime statistics in Belize shows a decrease in major crimes countrywide.

When compared to the same period last year, the 2019 statistics demonstrate an 18% reduction in major crimes.

Today, 35 Senior Officers that include Regional, Divisional and Unit Commanders from across Belize met with the Minister of National Security, John Saldivar, Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams and CEO Ret’d Col George Lovell to review the mid-year crime statistics and strengthen the Belize Police Department’s crime-fighting strategies.

The meeting was hosted at the Police Training Academy in Belmopan.
