Minor detained for man chopped to death

By BBN Staff: Police in southern Belize have detained a minor in connection with the murder of Fidel Bardalez, 36.

The minor, 17 years old, was reportedly socializing with the deceased around 3 a.m. on Saturday in Alta Vista village.

That is when an argument ensued and the minor reportedly chopped Bardalez with a machete.

Bardalez was subsequently found on the highway motionless.
