Micah Goodin raises $10,000 for scholarship fund

By BBN Staff: Belize City Councilor Micah Goodin has met his goal of  $10,000 for his scholarship fund.

In June, Goodin launched the fund with a barbecue sale at the Constitution Park in Belize City.

Last month, he held another barbecue sale to raise funds.

Today, with donations from an anonymous donor and Said Perdomo of Car Guys he met his goal.

Yet Goodin will still complete his third barbecue fundraiser scheduled for next Saturday.

According to Goodin, all the proceeds will be donated in partial scholarships of about $500 to needy Belize City university students.

This he says is to ease the financial burden which comes when one chooses to pursue higher education.
