By BBN Staff: A candlelight vigil has been scheduled for Allyson Major,36.

The vigil is set to start at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Battlefield Park in Belize City.

Readers will recall that earlier this week, Major was shot in the head by a police officer after he refused to pull over his vehicle.

His death has since prompted the Belize Police Department to conduct an internal and criminal investigation.

In light of increased public outcry, Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams has indicated that the officer who shot Major used excessive force.
