Chamber launches new Policy Tracker website

By BBN Staff: Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)’s says that as a part of its triple-C philosophy to Connect, Capacitate and Champion on behalf of its members, it believes that timely access to public-policy information is essential to the functioning of any democratic society.

While the current processes do provide for the publishing of legislative or regulatory changes via the Government Gazette, it is a well-known fact that not many have individuals have accessed this paper-based resource, the Chamber said.

Therefore, to aid in ensuring that members are as up to date as possible, the BCCI, in partnership with the Economic Development Council (EDC)’s Secretariat and funded by the Organization of American States (OAS), has created the www.PolicyTracker.bz website.

www.PolicyTracker.bz is designed to be the go-to website for timely updates on policy information, particularly those that can have a direct or indirect impact on the business community.

Coupled with the synopsis provided for each legislation, regulation or notification uploaded, visitors to the website will also be able to download and peruse digital copies of the relevant documents.

Also, under the “New Policy” feature, it is possible for members to view uploads based on date Gazetted.
