Progresso Heights case against “Sedi” Elrington headed to court next week

Posted: Thursday, July 25, 2019. 3:34 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The civil case between the real estate company Progresso Heights and Wilfred “Sedi” Elrington will be called up in the Supreme Court next week.

The case was called up before Justice Courtney Abel this week but had to be adjourned because Elrington could not appear in court for health reasons.

In an interview with Channel 5 News, attorney for Progresso Heights Eamon Courtenay explained that the company is suing Elrington for cautions that he had placed on several properties in 2011, effectively stopping the company from selling them. Courtenay explained that Elrington had the cautions put on the properties because he holds a 20 percent stake in the
company and wants 20 percent of the profits from the sale of those properties.

Courtenay added that the company is also suing the Registrar of Lands for failure to remove those cautions despite numerous applications submitted to have them removed.

The matter should go to court on Wednesday.
