Back-to-School literacy training held for teachers

By BBN Staff: The Peace Corps Volunteers (PCRVs) and the Ministry of Education are facilitating a Back-to-School literacy training for teachers.

20 Belizean teachers that work with Standard 1 students attended the training.

The group of teachers along with the volunteers will then go to train every Standard 1 teacher in Belize on skills and strategies to identify and support struggling readers.

“Literacy is an important human right and a high priority in Belize; our PCRVs team could not be more excited to be a part of this work,” a statement from the Peace Corps expressed.
