By BBN Staff: The Victor Galvez Stadium in San Ignacio, Cayo is widely used by youths, children, and adults daily.
Area Representative for Cayo North, Omar Figueroa has embarked on a project to construct a new charging facility for residents to charge cell phones and laptops using solar energy.
Figueroa says that this is part of an ongoing initiative to transform Victor Galvez into a Green park in Belize.
The project is being carried out in collaboration with Taiwan and the Ministry of Sports.
It includes replacing of stadium lights and street lamps, upgrading of electrical wiring at the park and the construction of a solar-powered charging facility.
Recently, the entire electrical system has been upgraded and a total of 8 LED stadium lights.
Decorative LED lights have also been installed at the main entrance.
LED street lamps now provide lighting to the entire walking track.
The charging facility is expected to be completed by the end of August.
“It is my hope that this upgrade will enhance user satisfaction for our deserving residents,” Figueroa expressed.
