Freak storm reported in Punta Gorda

By BBN Staff: A freak storm is reported to have occurred tonight in Punta Gorda. Information sent to BBN by our readers is that there was significant lightening and heavy thunder followed by strong wind and rain.

The image sent to us shows some trees uprooted and there are reports of some damage to property.

According to our colleagues at PGTV the freak storm occurred around 8:30 pm tonight. PGTV is also reporting that the stalls at the new market were damaged and roof and other debris is blocking Front Street.
