Police: Geraldine Flowers reported history of domestic violence

By BBN Staff: Just before 6 o’ clock on Sunday morning the unthinkable happened at the home of Geraldine Flowers in the New Site area of Dangriga town.

A man entered her home and shot her dead while she was in her bedroom.

Samuel Reid, who was at her residence at the time, heard the commotion and pounced on the shooter.

That was reportedly when a struggle ensued in which Reid was shot and stabbed.

Reid was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital in a critical but stable condition while Flowers was taken to the morgue.

A knife was recovered from the crime scene.

While several media houses are reporting that Flowers was killed by her ex-common-law-husband, police are collecting evidence before making such a claim.

However, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, did reveal that Flowers had made several reports to police against her ex-common-law-husband.

At one point he was charged for aggravated assault with a firearm against her.

However, when this and previous matters went to court she had withdrawn the charges.
