UDP did not contest village council elections in 7Miles/ El Progresso, Cayo

By BBN Staff: Surprisingly, the present UDP administration and Cayo Central Area representative, Rene Montero did not contest the village council elections in 7Miles/ El Progresso, Cayo.

7Miles is a tranquil community in the Cayo Central Constituency and villagers pride themselves on keeping their community clean and safe.

If there is any project to benefit the community, be sure to count on the residents of 7Miles/ El Progresso to volunteer their time and effort. They recently remodeled their own village clinic and villagers contributed their expertise in construction to complete the project.

The incumbent Chairman, Moses Waight and his councilors were endorsed on Sunday morning after being the only ones nominated to serve as members of their village council.

Notably, the UDP lost stomping grounds in the largest villages in Cayo Central: San Antonio and Georgeville. The PUP also won in Selena and La Gracia in that constituency.

Both parties split in Santa Teresita when a mixed slate was elected.

However, the UDP won in Cristo Rey, Yalbac, Buena Vista and San Marcos – all villages in the Cayo Central Constituency.

This past weekend was the final rounds of village council elections countrywide.
