Uphill battle for Bandits, 3-1 down at half time

Posted: Wednesday, July 31, 2019. 9:06 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: National Belize Premier Football League (BPFL) champions, Belmopan Bandits, were put on the run by the visiting Deportivo Saprissa and are two goals down at halftime at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan.

Thirteen minutes in, Manuel Ugalde slipped in and beat Shane Moody Orio at his near post for the first goal.

At the half hour, Coach Leroy Sherrier Lewis substituted Jeffrey James and he made an immediate impact, firing a sweet right foot shot to even the score.

But the Costa Ricans slowly imposed their will, winning a penalty from a handball in the 42nd minute and scoring their third goal after a mixup between the Bandits defenders.

BBN is live at the Stadium and will provide an update at the end of the match.
