House burns near Tower Hill bridge in Orange Walk

By BBN Staff: A house in the Orange Walk district was destroyed by fire today.

Around 4:00 p.m. the two story wooden structure burst into flames near the Tower Hill Bridge in Orange Walk. The building is located on property that was previously owned by John McAfee.

Fire officials were called to the scene but arrived too late.

The house is located right next to a nearby river but the fire truck was unable to source water from it.

Residents in the area say the house had been burning from earlier in the afternoon and could have been saved with quicker action.

No one was inside the building at the time of the blaze. However the building and its contents were destroyed.
